We use Firedaemon to install and control services on these machines. Its a popular, reliable and fre product that can be used for all sorts of services : you can download it from www.firedaemon.com. They provide a simple, single screen Graphical User Interface to install the service. If you wish to remove the service simply run FireDaemon from the prompt with the -u option followed by the name of the service that you wish to remove. We have used this product for a considerable amount of time on NT and W2K platforms without a problem.
