If you forget your username then you will need to get in touch via the contact us email address, and let us know as much about you as you can, and we will try and find out who you are.
Remember to check you capslock key. Passwords are case sensitive, and must not have quotes or slashes in them
if you have forgotten your password, we will mail it to your default email address that you set when you registered
Press submit after you have entered your username and password. Reset simply clears the form (it doesn't reset your password!)
Simply pick a username and try it! Try something you can remember (like your name!), and if it has already been used you will be informed when you submit the form .. then you will need to pick another. To bypass all that malarkey, use your current email address instead.
The password must be between 4 and 16 characters and is case sensitive. Use any characters you like, apart from single and double quotes and slashes. Good passwords include non alphanumeric characters like £$%% worlds that are mispelt and those that you won't find in the dictionary. We encrypt your password when we store it, so don't worry : we are not going to see it!
The confirmed password has to be exactly the same as the password : since you can't see what you are typing (it all appears as asterisks) we ask you to type it twice just to make sure.
This is worth some thought : put a clue here to your password, and if you ever forget your password you can request that we mail this clue to your contact email address
We need this information, so you can't leave it blank!

This field is optional : you can leave it blank

this is vital : please make sure you use a valid email address : WE WILL NOT SPAM YOU!
When you set up the message centre (the SecureFetch software that you can get from the download page), you tell it to listen to an email account for search requests. When you want to perform a search, you use our site to send a request to that email account, and the message centre then collects it periodically and executes the request. This is that email address : you can change it later in the profile section but it must be valid or nothing will happen.
We don't pass your details on to anyone : we hate spam as much as you do. This is simply in case we need to contact you about your account.
Reset clears the form: submit sends it to us : if the registration is successful you should be taken to a login screen and then you're away!
Password are between 4 and 16 characters, a-zA-Z0-9 plus various others like (), but some characters are illegal, like quotes and slashes
Make sure this is identical to the password entry (this extra check helps prevent a typing errror from locking you out of your account)
Enter a hint that we can mail to you when you forget your password
We will need this if we have to write to you

this can be left blank if you like

This is very important : if you forget your password, it will be sent here

Whether and how you would like us to contact you. This is to inform you about updates to the software and other SecureFetch related issues.
Change the background colours, images, fonts etc,and we'll remember your preferences for next time
Reset will put the form back as you first saw it ( ie showing the valuaes that we currently hold in the database). Submit will send the form to us, ad we will read the values in and update our records. You should then be taken to the Setup page.

Your username!
Your password. Make sure your capslock key is not on.
The Message Centre software will look in these directories on the remote machine. If you don't specify anything then MC starts at the top (for example C:/)
If ticked, the MC software will search all sub directories of the Search Directories, as far as it can go.
Look only at files with these extensions. An example would be .txt or .doc. Put one file type on each line. Leave this blank to include all files.
In each named directory on the remote machine (and optionally each subdirectory,) look in files with the specified extensions for these phrases . Put each phrase on a new line : the more phrases there are, and the longer they are, the quicker your search and the smaller and more accurate the result set will be.
Ignore files containing these phrases. Leave this blank if you want to include all files.
If you ask for only summaries to be sent back then you can choose how long they are (an email with a large number of long summaries may get blocked by your email system as it may be too large).
What format you would like to receive the summaries in : we can supply Text, HTML or both.
If you decide you don't want summaries sent to you and instead you want the the files that match your search criteria themselves, then you might end up with a very large email (that may not get through). A good idea is to ask for the responses in batches : ie send a subset of the set of search results, eg the first 50, then fire off the search again if you need the next 50.
This prevents too many files from being placed in one email (and then the email being dropped as its too large).
Simply where you would like the results sent. This can be any valid email address, so be careful.
When we send the email, the person receiving it will see this as the Reply To address
Submit starts the search, reset clears the form.
We have tried to keep the site as simple as possible so that it runs on as many browsers (versions/configurations/restrictions) and platforms as possible : including internet TV. For this reason we have tried to avoid relying on frames, cookies, popups, javascript, CSS and applets. Where we do use Javascript popups (i.e. in the Help section,) we made sure you can see everything even if you have Javascript or popups disabled. If you click on a help icon and nothing happens, then you might want to enable Javascript or popups : check out the Help section of your browser to find out how to do this.
Unless you really, really like the colour scheme, its probably best to select the Black On White scheme before you print a page (do this by going to your Profile page and use the Scheme drop down box. You can change it back after you are done).
